Credits only pay for AI. Nothing below uses them, and none of it is held back for a paid plan.
What is an AI credit?
Each time Yes Chef asks an AI model to do something for you, it uses a credit or two from the household’s monthly allowance. Bigger jobs, like reading a photo or searching the web, use more.
A failed attempt costs nothing. Costs can be adjusted as models change, so the numbers here are a guide.
So 50 credits is about 50 recipe imports, or 25 bottle photos, or a mix.
Credit packs

A one-off pack for Plus and Pro. Pack credits never expire. The month’s credits are always used first, and the pack only after they run out.

Not yet. Billing is not live, so nobody is charged for anything. During early access, new households start on Pro at no charge. Prices and a start date will be announced before anyone is charged.
Yes. Pay for a year up front and save 15% on Plus or Pro. You get the same monthly AI credits every month of the year.
Yes. When billing opens, you will be able to move up or down at any time. Your recipes, cellar and plans stay exactly where they are; only the AI credits and features change.
The AI buttons wait until next month, when the credits reset. Everything else keeps working: the planner, recipes, cellar, shopping and voting never use credits. On Plus and Pro you will also be able to buy a pack of extra credits.
Monthly credits do not; they reset at the start of each month. Credits from a pack never expire, and are used only after the month’s credits are gone.
No. A plan covers the whole household, however many members you invite, and the credits are shared between them.
No. Your bottles, prices, plans, shopping lists and votes stay in the household. When you use an AI feature, only what that feature needs is sent to the AI provider, and it is not used to train models.
Early households get Pro at no charge while billing is being built.
